Call for Interviews!

Cotton Xenomorph wants YOU to interview your literary loves!

Cotton Xenomorph is seeking interview proposals for all genres. Interviewers should ask a variety of questions regarding craft, life, interests, literary citizenship, inspiration, etc. The interview should NOT be too personal (at risk of putting the author or CX in a vulnerable spot), OR focus too heavily on process. Lines of questioning might explore a theme of trauma but should never exploit or fetishize trauma itself.

Interested parties should send a PROPOSAL of 8 questions to a SPECIFIC author to editors@cottonxenomorph.com with the subject line “Interview Proposal” and include contact information for both parties.

At CX, we don’t expect the interview to follow the 8 proposed questions exactly. There should always be room for organic questioning, improvisation, and tangents. We ask for 8 solid questions as security for a productive interview. If someone starts talking about best apple pie recipes, we welcome it wholeheartedly!

Upon approval, the interviewer has 12 weeks to secure, perform, edit, format, and submit the final text interview. We suggest securing the interview opportunity before querying us.

There is no word limit or expectation. We expect bios for interviewer and interviewee, as well as contact information and consent to contact from the interviewee to make sure the interview took place and possibly to corroborate facts.
